Lead Ownership

Lead ownership tells Predylo who is responsible for a lead. An owner appears on the lead record, drives filters on the Leads page, surfaces follow-ups on My Work, and triggers notifications when someone assigns leads to a teammate.

What it is

Each lead can have one owner — an org member stored as owner_user_id and owner_email. Ownership is optional; unassigned leads have no owner.

When ownership changes, Predylo:

  • Writes an activity note on the lead (including bulk assignments)
  • Sends an in-app notification (and email) to the new owner when they are not the person making the assignment
  • Updates My Work for the new owner

Who uses it

RoleTypical use
RepSee “My leads” via filter; receive assignments
Admin / OwnerDistribute inbound or campaign leads across the team

Assign an owner on lead detail

  1. Open a lead from Leads or any link to /leads/[id].
  2. Find the Owner control in the lead header (dropdown with org members).
  3. Select a teammate, or choose Unassigned to clear ownership.

The change saves immediately. The new owner is notified unless you assigned the lead to yourself.

Bulk assign from the Leads table

Use bulk actions when routing many leads at once (for example after a campaign import or Discovery qualify batch):

  1. Go to Leads.
  2. Select leads using the row checkboxes (or select all on the page).
  3. In the bulk action bar, open Assign owner….
  4. Pick a teammate, or choose Unassign to clear ownership on all selected leads.

Predylo validates that the assignee is an org member, updates only leads in your org, logs one activity per lead, and sends a single summary notification to the new owner (e.g. “Alex assigned you 12 leads”).

Filter leads by owner

On the Leads page, use the Owner filter in the filter bar:

OptionShows
All ownersEvery lead (default)
My leadsLeads where you are the owner
UnassignedLeads with no owner
[Teammate name]Leads owned by that person

Active filters appear as chips below the filter bar. Clear a chip or use Clear all to reset.

Saved segments (see Tags & Segments) can include an owner filter so teams can share views like “Sarah’s enterprise queue.”

How ownership connects to My Work

  • Owned-lead follow-ups on My Work only include leads where you are the owner and next_follow_up is due.
  • Assignment notifications link to /leads?owner=me so new owners land on their queue immediately.

Ownership does not automatically assign outreach tasks or reminders — those are created separately on the lead.

Step-by-step: hand off a lead to a teammate

  1. Open the lead (or select it in the table for bulk handoff).
  2. Set Owner to the teammate.
  3. Optionally add a comment with @mention explaining context.
  4. The teammate receives a lead_assigned notification and can filter My leads on the Leads page.

Step-by-step: claim unassigned leads

  1. Go to Leads.
  2. Set Owner filter to Unassigned.
  3. Select the leads you are taking.
  4. Bulk Assign owner… to yourself, or assign one at a time on lead detail.

Tips

  • Assign early — ownership clarifies accountability before outreach starts.
  • Use bulk assign after Discovery or Ad Leads promote — route verified inbound leads in one pass.
  • Unassign when recycling — clear ownership on disqualified leads so they do not appear in someone’s My Work follow-ups.
  • Check notifications settings — assignees need email notifications enabled under Settings if they want email in addition to in-app alerts.
